Hi there! Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my little page. My name is Tanmayi, and I am currently a final year Masters's student at Lincoln University, trying to get a degree in Environmental Science. Being an academic is just one part of me, the other is a keen photographer. I moved to New Zealand with my family back in 2012 at 14 years old. Right from the window view of the plane of the Southern Alps as we flew into Christchurch, and the mesmerizing Canterbury plains and the unique braided rivers took my breath away at first sight. This was when a little itch within me began that pushed me to learn photography so I could capture what I saw to show to my family and friends back in India - at least I tried to! I really don't think any picture can do justice to New Zealand's beauty and I believe I am not the only one that thinks so.

When I was about 18, a close friend asked me if I would be keen to photograph her grandfather's 90th birthday party. I said yes straight away and didn't want to charge them since I was still very beginner-level. However, my friend's parents were so kind and generous that they paid me a semi-professional fee and that's the story of how I first earned some money through photography. From here, any gigs I scored were through friends, their parents, and just good old word of mouth.  Many of the shoots I do presently are still due to connections, but I am hoping that this website and other social media networks can help me reach a wider community.
Hopefully, this gives you a little snippet about me. Please get in touch if you think I can be of any assistance to you!
